My Trip

Well I will have to say that I had a wonderful time on my business trip. The only bad thing is that I had to leave Aydan and Mariano. But it was good to have a break from everything. I have always wanted to go somewhere, by myself, no one and I finally got to do it. I was really skeptical about going for several different reasons but I felt that that was what God wanted me to do. For one I don't get scared very often, but I felt God's assurance that he kept me safe in Raleigh and he can keep me safe in Guatemala. Circumstances will be dramatically different but my God doesn't change. The education I got from the seminars was truly wonderful. It gave me a greater insight and I have a different perspective of my job. And sometimes at work I feel like I am so far gone when it comes to the new technology. But I am satisfied that I went. When I looked at the website for the hotel, it mentioned having a pool and I just assumed it was indoors, NOT. So Tuesday evening I got off the 2ND floor to go look at the pool only to find out that it was closed for the season. I said I am glad that I went and looked first before putting on some summer clothes to go swimming because I would have felt really stupid.
I found a Mexican restaurant, had to eat by myself and I went shopping at Big Lots. Most of the people attending the seminar was from that area. I was the only that had drove, we had 6 others that flew in to the seminar. I met three Mohawk Indians. They were from the St. Reggis Mohawk Tribe. They all were in control on where and when the Government funding money went to on their reservation. Their reservation is half on the Canadian side and the other half on the American side. Then I met an Indian woman from India, don't know what it was with the Indians on the trip, guess I was missing Mariano....lol...anyways but she was from Washington. I told Mariano I was ready to go again...I kind of felt like a wanna be princess. Because here I am the country girl and I am staying in this really nice resort like hotel. Fabulous....my alarm clock was set to play "Green Acres" because that just seemed to fit the moment....
We are planning to go to the beach in two weeks and I AM SO SO EXCITED!!! Buren, Faye, Mom, Dad, Michael, Amanda, Carter, Scott, Mariano, Aydan, ME and maybe Stephen and Amy will be going. We have rented a condo to stay at. I am excited because it has been awhile since my whole family has gone on a trip and then Buren and Faye get to come!!! Of all people I think that they need a vacation, a real one. But Mariano has never been to the Outer Banks and never seen a light house, which brings me to another quick topic. Friday night, Mariano and I went bike riding over at the greenway. I still feel the bike seat if you know what I mean. But we bought a little carriage that hooks onto the bike for Aydan. On our way back we decided to stop by the little park out by the soccer fields. So I start acting like a kid and going down the slides with Aydan. I asked Mariano if he wanted to go and he said sure. So he grabs Aydan and they sit down on the slide and they just sit there. And here I am at the bottom hootin' and a hollerin' and Mariano never comes down. So I am like what is your problem and he tells me that he is scared. Naturally I just start laughing because that was like the most ridiculous thing that I have heard. Then he proceeds to tell me that he has never gone down a slide before and that he is kind of scared. I am like WHAT??? Never gone down a slide before in your life time??? Which Mariano says was that he never had this growing up....So that was a first to Mariano. I am still baffled about it. Because he has been in the states for almost 14 years, and all I can say is that he has to get out a little bit more....
